Abstract
Floods continue to be the most devastating natural disasters, whose frequency and intensity are increasing due to climate change. Extreme floods have posed significant risks to most parts of Kenya making it one of the most flood-prone country in the world. As such, disaster resilience projects are important to reduce the impacts of extreme flood events to vulnerable communities. The flood risk analysis approach aims to provide essential information for formulation of disaster prevention policies and decision-making processes for disaster risk reduction.

Purpose of the position
The Netherlands Red Cross (NLRC) is looking for a Country Representative who will:
Maintain and further develop relationships with CAR Red Cross, Red Cross Partners, Donors and other Stakeholders
Lead, coordinate and manage the strategy of the NLRC in collaboration with the CAR Red Cross in CAR and the NLRC HQ

The final evaluation will need to assess the long-term recovery phase of the Sint Maarten program, which is funded by the Dutch public and implemented between August 2018 and June 2021. The long-term recovery phase of the Hurricane Irma Recovery Program consists of multiple projects, linked to the areas of Safe and Healthy Living, Economic Security and Disaster Management.
Most of the Hurricane Irma Recovery projects are led and implemented directly by the Netherlands Red Cross (NLRC). For a number of projects, NLRC has contracted implementing partners to fully implement projects outside of the NLRC organizational program setup.
The NLRC projects are: Home Repair, Psychosocial Support, Livelihoods, Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction, Response Preparedness and Capacity Building.
