GAIBANDHA: Speakers here on Friday urged the farmers to farm Bangladesh Agriculture Research Institute (BARI) released improved varieties-BARI Potato 41 and Potato 53 on their sandy char land in large Scale to get desired output against the crop and to earn economic profit as well.
“As the demand of food is increasing with the rise of country’s populations fast, there is no alternative to boost production of food to meet its demand applying the latest agri-technologies during the age of globalisation”, they said.
They made the comments while addressing a ‘Field Day’ on the harvest of BARI potato 41, and potato 53 on the char land at Kunderpara under Kamarjani union of Sadar upazila in the district this noon.

GAIBANDHA, Feb 12, 2021(BSS) – The growers are expecting bumper production of ground nut BARI-9 variety cultivated on the char land of the district on pilot or trial basis in the current season.
Official sources said, Bangladesh Agriculture Research Institute (BARI) set up an office named ‘On Farm Research Division’ (OFRD) in the district town in 2016-2017 fiscal year with the financial support of National Agriculture Technology and Bangladesh Agriculture Research Council aimed at making the BARI released improved varieties more popular at the farmers level and help the growers earn financial profit by producing and selling the varieties.
