Delta State Government on Tuesday charged protocol officers to be good ambassadors of the state by being diligent in their duties at all times.
Chief of Staff Government House Asaba, Olorogun David Edevbie, gave the charge at a one-day capacity training for protocol staff (political appointees and civil servants) organised by the Office of the Executive Assistant (Protocol) to the Governor of Delta State held at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba.
Edevbie who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Government House and Protocol, Sir Eddy Ogidi-Gbegbaje, noted that protocol officers were frontline officers of the state and were expected to possess certain qualities that will enable them represent the state’s interest at all times.
NEMA, SEMA distribute relief materials to 2020 disaster victims in Delta

The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA in collaboration with Delta State Emergency Relief Agency, SEMA, weekend commenced direct distribution of relief items to victims of the 2020 flood in 16 Local Government Areas of the State.
The State Commissioner, Bureau for Special Duties, Mr Mofe Pirah who flagged off the distribution ceremony in Asaba with victims in Oshimili South Local Government, commended NEMA for their timely intervention.
Pirah assured that the partnership between the State and Federal Government through the National Emergency Management Agencies, NEMA, and SEMA would be strengthened.

Delta disburses over N33 million to 255 disaster victims

Delta State Government, has disbursed over N33 million to 255 rainstorm and fire disaster victims from four communities in four Local Government Areas in the State to mitigate their sufferings and improve their livelihood.
The communities are; Ovrode, Umukwata, Oleh and Sapele in Isoko North, Ukwuani, Isoko South and Sapele Local Government Areas respectively. Those from Ovrode and Umukwata were affected by rainstorm while victims from Oleh and Sapele were affected by fire disaster.

Presenting the relief materials to the victims, the State Commissioner, Bureau for Special Duties, Mr Omamofe Pirah, told the beneficiaries not to misconstrue the State Government’s benevolence as compensation for their losses.
