St. Catherine’s Academy (SCA) in Anaheim, CA has been open for full time in-person instruction since last August.
Boys in Kindergarten through 8th grade have thrived from being back on campus and have enjoyed the benefits of physical activity that comes from the academy’s infamous obstacle course. Not very many students can experience an obstacle course while at school, especially not one like the one at St. Catherine’s Academy.
SCA’s unique course has proven to create more than just a fun and exciting physical activity. Students enjoy racing, jumping, swinging, crawling on the course. They do this while enhancing their motor skills, coordination, teamwork skills, problem solving abilities, sensory exploration, building strength and endurance.

âOur group created this nonprofit because many on our team have had family members suffer from dementia, and others have made connections with people going through cognitive change through their volunteer work at elderly homes in the past,â said Abby Baldwin, the groupâs treasurer. âLosing memories and accounts of important events in your life is saddening and can be lonely. We want to use our skills in music and art to help brighten the lives of people who may be going through dark times.â
