Crews battle hotel fire in Greenwich Township

Crews battle hotel fire in Greenwich Township (UPDATE) Updated Mar 18, 2021; Posted Mar 17, 2021 A smokey fire damaged America s Best Value Inn on March 17, 2021, along Route 22 in Greenwich Township, chasing residents out into the chilly morning.Rich Maxwell | lehighvalleylive.com contributor Facebook Share UPDATE: The fire was ruled an accident and was started by an unattended candle, Warren County fire Marshal Joe Lake said Thursday. While the fire damage was limited to a room on the second floor, the smoke worked its way along the center hall way that divides room on the front of the hotel from those to the rear, Lake said. The smoke byproducts will have to be cleaned up, owners will need to make sure there are working smoke alarms in the rooms and utilities will have to be reconnected before any residents or guests can return to the building, Lake said.
