D E Shaw Alkali Fund V brings total commitments across the fund series to about $2.9bn.
More than $450m was contributed to Fund V by existing D E Shaw fund backers, while the firm and its employees committed over $100m.
D E Shaw raised about $940m for its fourth Alkali fund in 2019.
