For 25 years CARE House of Oakland County has sponsored the Circle of Friends event. This event seeks to bring awareness to the community of the prevalence of child abuse and neglect and to create awareness of the mission of CARE House the prevention and treatment of abuse and neglect and advocacy for victims. The program also raises funds to support the work of CARE House. This year the virtual event attracted over 275 guests who also honored the late Barry King, father of Timothy King, one of the victims of the Oakland County Child Killings in 1976-1977. Barry was a major supporter of CARE House and an advocate for his son. He pursued justice for his son which, in spite of one of the most rigorous investigations in the history of the United States, remains unresolved. He was dedicated to finding the truth. ....
