Date Time Council Adopts Operational Plan, Delivery Program and Financial Plan Council has adopted its 2021/2022 Operational Plan, 2018-2022 Delivery Program and Financial Plans at its June Council meeting. Combined, these documents provide a guide to Council’s operations and help the organisation meet community demands for services and infrastructure by maximising what it can achieve with its available resources. In adopting the plans, Federation Council Mayor Patrick Bourke said the overall plans primary focus was to ensure Council services are sustainable into the future, while delivering on the many major projects outlined in the Community Strategic Plan. “Council is pleased to adopt, its 2021/2022 Operational Plan, 2018-2022 Delivery Program and Financial Plans,” Mayor Bourke said.

Divers search for man missing in Canyon Lake

Almost two weeks after the body of Canyon Lake’s third drowning victim this season was recovered, first responders returned to look for a 26-year-old man who went missing early Sunday evening. Canyon Lake Fire and EMS Chief Darren Brinkkoeter said units from his department, Comal County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department game wardens were called to a cove just east of Boat Ramp 7, around 5 p.m. “It’s a unified search,” Brinkkoeter said around 8:30 p.m. Sunday. “Right now we’re looking for a 26-year-old male, with black shorts in the cove near Boat Ramp 7. Crews are looking for him.”

Divers locate Canyon Lake drowning victim

On the fourth day of searching, divers Tuesday afternoon recovered the body of Joel Jijo, 22, of Houston, who disappeared while swimming on Canyon Lake on Saturday morning. Samuel Padgett, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department game warden, said Jijo, who wasn’t wearing a lifejacket when last seen between Boat Ramps No. 5 and No. 6 on Saturday, was recovered by Houston Police Department divers in about 34 feet of water around 5 p.m. “From the beginning of the search there wasn’t a moment where there wasn’t at least one boat looking in the search area,” Padgett said of the four-day recovery effort by boats and divers from the TPWD, Canyon Lake Fire and EMS and the New Braunfels Fire Department.
