Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery in Sydney’s south west yesterday.
About 10.45pm (Sunday 25 April 2021), officers from Campsie Police Area Command were called to a service station on Punchbowl Road, Belmore, after reports of an armed robbery.
Police have been told an unknown man, armed with a knife, entered the store and demanded cash from the employee – a 26-year-old man.
He stole cash and cigarettes, before fleeing the scene on foot down Benaroon Road. The employee was uninjured.
A search of the surrounding area was conducted, with assistance from the Dog Unit and POLAIR, however the man was not located. A crime scene was established, which was examined by specialist police.
Police are investigating links to a similar incident occurred at the same location last week. (Supplied) Fortunately, he was not physically injured, NSW Police Detective Inspector Andrew Mackay told 9News of the worker. I m hoping he ll be able to return to work very soon.

Punchbowl Road is now closed in both directions between King Georges Road and Juno Parade due to the truck crash.
Traffic is now being diverted.
Traffic is heavy in the area with drivers urged to allow extra time if travelling through the area.
