Legislator updates city council on state revenues, federal money

Green River Star -   May 6, 2021 Rep. Mark Baker, R-Green River, spoke briefly to the Green River City Council Tuesday night, providing an update on funding from the American Rescue Plan and revenue estimates for the state. Baker, who serves in House District 60, said the city should receive the first payment from the American Rescue Plan after the state receives money for cities and towns. The city is expected to receive $1.8 million from the plan, while the county is anticipating $8.2 million. Rock Springs is expected to receive $3.4 million, with each receiving half the payment this month, while the other half would be.

Police to get new body cams

Green River Star -   April 22, 2021 The Green River Police Department will receive new body cameras as part of an upgrade it plans to initiate in the coming months. Captain Shaun Sturlaugson of the GRPD said the equipment the department has is, at its oldest, a decade old – dating back to when the department first started equipping officers with body cameras.
