DSA case against Kajol transferred to Dhaka Cyber Tribunal

The case filed under Digital Security Act (DSA) against photojournalist Shafiqul Islam Kajol with Kamrangirchar Police Station was transferred to Dhaka Cyber Tribunal for trial today.
Metropolitan Magistrate Debdash Chandra Adhikary passed the order after scrutinising the case dockets and other relevant documents.
Kajol has been charged in the case for his alleged involvement with circulating indecent, defamatory, objectionable, and fake information about some ministers, lawmakers, and top Jubo Mahila League leaders on Facebook.
After around one year of the probe, Sub-inspector Mohammad Russell Mollah of Detective Branch of Police, the investigation officer of the case, on March 14 submitted the charge sheet to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate s Court of Dhaka.

A case filed under the Digital Security Act (DSA) against photojournalist Shafiqul Islam Kajol was yesterday transferred to Dhaka Cyber Tribunal for trial.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate AM Zulfikar Hayat passed the order after scrutinising the case dockets and other relevant documents in the case.
The case was filed over circulating indecent, defamatory, objectionable and fake information on some ministers, lawmakers and top Jubo Mahila League leaders on Facebook.
On February 4, Mohammad Russell Mollah, sub-inspector of Detective Branch of police and also the investigation officer, submitted the charge sheet with Chief Metropolitan Magistrate s Court of Dhaka in the case.

Investigators have charged photojournalist Shafiqul Islam Kajol with circulating indecent, defamatory, objectionable and fake information about some ministers, lawmakers and top Jubo Mahila League leaders on Facebook.
After an almost 10-month long probe, Sub-inspector Mohammad Russell Mollah of Detective Branch of police, the investigation officer, filed the charge sheet with Chief Metropolitan Magistrate s Court of Dhaka on February 4 in a case under the Digital Security Act (DSA).
Usmin Ara Bally, a member of the central committee of Bangladesh Jubo Mahila League, a wing of the ruling Awami League, filed the case with Hazaribagh Police Station on March 10 last year.
