SPRINGFIELD The city, having recently launched a second phase in its efforts to bring more marijuana businesses to Springfield, heard a variety of proposals this week.
Nine companies made 15-minute presentations to a city review board and the public during a remote meeting on Monday, with another nine scheduled to make presentations Thursday.
Those 18 companies and others are all potential applicants for marijuana licenses and permits in Springfield. The deadline for proposals is Monday at 2 p.m. at the Office of Procurement at City Hall.

SPRINGFIELD In expanding its solicitation of new marijuana businesses, the city has scheduled presentations from 17 potential applicants next week.
The presentations will be March 15 and 18, beginning at 6 p.m. both dates. They will be conducted online due to the coronavirus pandemic. Those interested in watching the presentations live can do so by registering at focusspringfield.com/marijuana-hearing.

SPRINGFIELD Companies have scheduled community meetings for three proposed cannabis businesses in Springfield this month, including a cultivation and retail operation at the Eastfield Mall.
Diem Cannabis has a public meeting Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Boston Road mall’s food court to provide specific plans for the former Macy’s store. The meeting is open to the public in person and online via Zoom.
