KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Firdous Shamim Naqvi says the competition in the NA-249 by-poll being held in Karachi will be fierce till the last vote is counted.
He, however, told Geo News on Thursday that PTI is leading in every survey related to the NA-249 constituency of Karachi.
Polling for the by-election in the NA-249 constituency started at 8am and will continue till 5pm without any interval. The National Assembly seat fell vacant after PTI s Faisal Vawda resigned.
Vawda worked for the NA-249 constituency after it was neglected for 20 years, said Naqvi, while talking about PTI s chances of winning in the by-poll.

NEW DELHI: Minority affairs minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi took a dig at opposition parties for their criticism on the pricing of Covid vaccines, saying those who were earlier questioning the efficacy of these jabs are now creating confusion on its price.
Addressing Sarv Dharm Sammelan (Interfaith meeting) on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti through video conferencing, Naqvi said instead of creating fear and confusion on the Covid pandemic, one should become a part of solution to the problem.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, religious leaders and several people working in social field were part of the meeting.
NEW DELHI: The BJP on Monday approached the Election Commission seeking action against West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee alleging that she has violated Representation of the People s Act by asking Muslims to come together and vote for her party TMC in the state assembly polls. A BJP leaders delegation, including Union minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, party s national secretary Sunil Deodhar, its leader GVL Narasimha Rao, met top officials of the poll panel here and submitted a memorandum demanding action against Banerjee and her party. Talking to reporters after the meeting, Naqvi said that in an election speech TMC chief Mamata Banerjee appealed to Muslim voters not to let their votes be split among different parties and asked them to cast their votes en-bloc to her party.
