UTICA, N.Y. - The 14th and final meeting of the season between the Utica Comets and Syracuse Crunch put a fitting bow on an even rivalry between the two teams this season with Utica shutting out Syracuse 3-0 at the Adirondack Bank Center, Wednesday.
With the Comets win, the Galaxy Cup series this season ends as a draw with each team winning seven games a-piece (Comets won two in overtime - 5-7-2-0 head-to-head).

Utica, N.Y. The Syracuse Crunch was blanked by the Utica Comets, 3-0, Monday at the Adirondack Bank Center.
The loss moves the Crunch to 18-10-3-0 on the season, but Syracuse still won the 14-game season series against Utica, 7-5-2-0.
Crunch goaltender Spencer Martin turned aside 28-of-31 shots. Joel Hofer stopped all 26 shots he faced in net for the Comets. Syracuse was unable to convert on its one power play opportunity, but went 4-for-4 on the penalty kill.

The Utica Comets ended their 14-game season series with rival Syracuse on Monday with a 3-0 victory at the Adirondack Bank Center.
It was a great shut-out victory for goalie Joel Hoffer who stopped all 26 Crunch shots on goal for the victory.
It was a defensive battle through 2 periods and the Comets and Crunch would play to a scoreless tie going into the 3rd and final period. Just seconds after the opening final period face-off,Nolan Stevens broke the tie with a goal giving the Comets the 1-0 lead. Lukas Jasek got the assist. With under 5 minutes to play, the Comets would score an empty net goal and Nolan Stevens scored his second goal of the game to make the score 3-0, which would serve as the final score.

After two scoreless periods, the Comets opened scoring 5:17 into the third. Lukas Jasek won the faceoff in the right circle and sent the puck back for Nolan Stevens to send in with a quick wrister.
