According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), the primary objective of the week is to emphasise the value of vaccines in preventing diseases that were hitherto perceived as life-threatening. This World Immunization Week seeks to highlight the importance of vaccines as a “public good that saves lives and protects health” whilst also allowing development.
