The United States Harness Writers Association Hall of Fame Screening Committee is proud to announce an outstanding slate of candidates for induction into the 2022 Harness Racing Hall of Fame. Trainers Ron Burke and George Teague, Jr., along with driver Yannick Gingras, have been placed on the Hall of Fame ballot for this summer’s election.
This trio was then given a unanimous thumbs-up by four Hall of Fame trustees, who are all members of the Hall of Fame, to finalize the process. As well, the committee elected Chris Boring to the Harness Racing Hall of Fame, through the Veterans designation process.

Tim Bojarski has participated in just about every aspect of the Standardbred racing business throughout his life: as a groom, a trainer, a driver, a writer, handicapper, and as the National President of the U.S. Harness Writers Association and the President of USHWA’s Upstate New York Chapter. He’s also owned horses in partnership with Tony Gruppo since the early 1980s. While the pair has achieved success at the open level, competing on the Grand Circuit has remained a dream. Friday night at Yonkers, Dbldelitebrigade will change that as she makes her stakes debut in the Blue Chip Matchmaker Series first leg Friday night (March 12).

“Leah and I were very honored to continue the tradition of recognizing the outstanding caretaker of the year last year and we look forward to again rewarding an exceptional individual this year,” said Zubrod. “While the racing season may have been altered a bit with the covid-19 pandemic, caretakers continued to work as hard as ever. A caretaker’s work is important to the success of not only the horse, but the entire stable.”
