MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - There may be an abundance of new faces within the Maverick football program, as the days of Nate Gunn, Shane Zylstra and company are over, but don’t expect standard to change.
40 student-athletes have yet to play a regular season game, there is a new group of leaders, as well as additions to the coaching staff.
Minnesota State has used the spring season for player development and instilling the identity of Maverick football into the younger players.

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) â The North Dakota State football program announced the addition of Joe Beschorner to its coaching staff Tuesday.
Beschorner, who has served as Minnesota Stateâs offensive coordinator since 2015, will become a running backs coach at NDSU.
The Mavericks have compiled an overall record of 58-8-0, won four Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference championships and made four NCAA postseason appearances during Beschornerâs time with the program, which included a trip to the NCAA Division II National Championship game in 2019.
