The community can come see the improvements that have taken place.
Blue Star Mothers Chapter No. 1 of Nebraska City, will be presenting Quilts of Valor to local veterans.
Live music will start at 5 p.m. on Saturday, followed by a free-will donation concert by Bunky Christiansen, the Traveling Troubadour.
The weekend lineup is as follows:
Saturday, May 29: Building open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Military memorabilia will be on display.
Quilts of Valor presentations at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Live music at 5 p.m. on the parking lot. Bring your lawn chairs.
Downtown business owners to maintain bumpouts

Care and maintenance of the downtown bump-outs along Central Avenue will switch from the City of Nebraska City to a group of downtown business owners.
The Nebraska City City Council approved a plan for business owners to assume responsibility for the cleanup, cleanout and routine plant care during the council’s May 17 regular meeting.
Kelly Bequette, owner of The Keeping Room, and Doug Grimm of Grimm’s Gardens, which would maintain the bumpouts, brought a request to the council to change the caretaking responsibilities from the city to some business owners.
Nancy Hoch
Nancy Hoch was born Oct. 10, 1936, in Nebraska City, Nebraska, to Clarence Lynn DeLong and Mary Irene (Davis) DeLong.
She died peacefully in her sleep in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, May 5.
Nancy grew up in Nebraska City and spent most of her childhood on horseback, as an accomplished and award-winning equestrian. She rode and showed competitively three gated horses all across the United States, winning numerous (way too many to count) trophies and ribbons, in prestigious horse shows like the American Royal in Kansas City, Lexington National in Kentucky, and many more.
Nancy graduated from Nebraska City high school, attended the University of Nebraska and graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in political science.
