Staff and students at the Barnfield Avenue school in Runcorn started to write their own novels as a key worker hero, became copywriters editing their own work and created adverts for their pieces of literature. Some budding writers even created a sequel and a film script. Teachers shared videos reading extracts from their favourite stories and students have been tasked with finding out which member of staff is hiding behind which novel. Antonia Howard-Hildige, assistant head of English, said: “World Book Day is always an extravaganza at OBA, and I am thrilled that so many staff and students engaged with the day online with as much aplomb as they do in school.
