Utility Investments and Consumer Costs of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure (“Study”) The Study analyzes the costs of electric vehicle (“EV”) charging infrastructure. EMA describes itself as a federation of 47 state and regional trade associations representing energy marketers throughout the United States. The members operate exclusively below the terminal rack and supply 80 percent of all finished motor and heating fuel products sold in the United States. A focus of the Study is the author’s view on the costs associated with what they describe as a “rapid buildup” of EV charging infrastructure involving distribution and transmission investments.
