ZTE Axon 30 Pro teased to feature Trinity triple-camera setup
Chinese brand ZTE has already confirmed that the company is gearing up to launch its next-generation Axon series flagship smartphone ZTE Axon 30 Pro. Ahead of the official announcement, the company has revealed some key details about the device.
Now, the company has shared a new teaser image on social media, revealing that the upcoming Axon 30 Pro will feature a Trinity triple-camera setup that will take care of the photography needs on the next-gen flagship device.
A rough translation of the text from Chinese indicates that the smartphone will come with more than two flagship cameras. It remains to be seen what exactly the company means with such a teaser but it sure sounds exciting.

ZTE Axon 20 5G burst into the scene late last year with the first smartphone sporting an under display camera. Now the successor with an impressive set of hardware is already making rounds and hints at an upcoming announcement and/or official release date. The Axon 30 Pro 5G has been teased on ZTE’s official Weibo account with intriguing information that it’ll have the flagship Snapdragon 888 processor.
The device will boast the second generation of the under display camera technology and a strong suggestion by the Director of the Consumer Experience Department at ZTE Lu Qianhao, that the phone will have a 200MP camera sensor (probably Samsung S5KGND sensor). It’ll have 0.64µm pixel size courtesy the 4-to-1 pixel binning tech with rumored support for 4-in-1 and 16-in-1 modes for 50MP and 12.5MP images.
The ZTE Axon 30 Pro is confirmed only five months after its predecessor launched.
The phone will feature an under-display selfie camera, making it ZTE’s second launch with the technology.
It will also feature a Snapdragon 888 processor, a sizeable upgrade over the Axon 20 5G.
Last year, ZTE made history by launching the first commercial smartphone with an under-display selfie camera the Axon 20 5G. Although the image quality of that camera was lacking, it did prove that the tech is viable.
Now, just five months later, ZTE is already prepping the follow-up to that device (via
GSM Arena). On Chinese microblogging site Weibo, Director of the Consumer Experience Department at ZTE Lu Qianhao shared information confirming the ZTE Axon 30 Pro is on the way.
Today, the president of ZTE’s terminal business unit and the president of Nubia Technology Co., Ltd., Ni Fei, released a teaser of the upcoming Axon 30 Pro mobile phone. According to him, this smartphone will come with the industry’s strongest imaging system in 2021. Currently, there is no information on the appearance and configuration of AXON 30 Pro.
In September last year, ZTE released the Axon 20 5G. This smartphone is the first and the only phone in the market to use an under-display camera. It also comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor. The Axon 20 5G comes with a Visionox 6.92-inch FHD+ screen that supports a 90Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch control, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and 10bit color depth.
