It ll be a pleasant weekend across the metro with mainly sunny skies and highs in the low to mid-80s. Dew points will be in the comfortable range Saturday in the low 50s, but the humidity will start to increase Sunday.

Air Quality Alert In Northern Minnesota
As wildfire smoke continues to linger causing poor air quality values in portions of Northern Minnesota and the Red River Valley, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has extended the Air Quality Alert for the locations in gray above through Noon Saturday. Drought Update
The latest Drought Monitor was released on Thursday. and it continues to not be good news for the region. Drought expanded across the state once again, and for the first time since April 2013 we have areas of Minnesota under Extreme (D3) drought (4% of the state) - the second to worst category. Almost the entire state (98.2%) is now under Moderate Drought (the exception being in southeastern portions of the state), and 52.4% is under Severe Drought.
Hot Monday Ahead Followed By Much Needed Rain Tuesday A hot Independence Day gives way to another hot day for the federal holiday on Monday with highs once again popping into the mid-90s under sunny skies in the Twin Cities. A Hot Independence Day
Happy Independence Day! It s going to be as hot as a firework Sunday in the Twin Cities with morning lows in the low 70s and highs climbing to the mid-90s. Mostly sunny skies will reign throughout most of the day, but by the evening hours we can t rule out a few stronger thunderstorms roaming through the area.
