Alfonso Herrera joined the cast of Queen of the South in season three as Javier Jimenez, the leader of the Death Squad and cousin to Jimenez Cartel leader Boaz Jimenez. After bonding with Teresa Mendoza (played by Alice Braga), he started to work for her instead as they shared a mutual respect for one another. Javier did have someone else though that he deeply cared about in series four of the USA Network series.

Queen of the South series four was a shocking season as viewers had to say goodbye to Tony Parra (Julian Silva).
Teresa s godson was killed in a car explosion which she was also in as Judge Lafayette (David Andrews) wanted revenge for the death of his nephew.
While she ended up in a coma, Tony died from his injuries shortly after the incident had taken place.
So is she going to get her revenge or will Teresa simply accept Tony s fate and move on?

Queen of the South s filming for series five was up and running in March 2020 but soon had to come to a halt when the worldwide lockdown began. This meant there would be a major delay in the next season of the USA Network drama. However, filming started again in November and so is expected to return in mid-2021.
