Comal County Commissioners on Thursday will consider approving change orders for Annex and sheriffâs office renovations in their final meeting before Judge Sherman Krause presents his 2022 recommended budget next week.
On the backburner are proposed boat ramp rules changes out at Canyon Lake, which havenât been forgotten, Krause said.
âI donât know if we have another workshop planned but weâre still working with law enforcement to get their input on what they would like to see and what they need to enforce the rules,â the judge said. âAll of that will go into what we end up with.â

BELLEFONTE The 16-member Solid Waste Advisory Committee was appointed during Tuesday’s Centre County commissioners’ meeting. Joanne Shafer, deputy executive director and recycling coordinator of the Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority, spoke during the meeting, which was held via Zoom.
“It is an open-ended commitment,” Shafer explained. “Our hope would be to follow through at least until a new contract is executed. At that point, the committee would still exist, but it would be rendered inactive.”
Commissioner Steve Dershem questioned the open-ended committment.
“I would feel more comfortable if there was a stop date certain on here,” Dershem said.
Potter County has renewed a professional services contract between a Coppell, Texas-based government consulting firm and the Sheriff s Office to assist with seeking funding reimbursements through Federal Financial Participation programs - including the State Criminal Alien Assistance Program.
During Monday s regular Potter County Commissioners Court session, the Court voted in favor of the four-year renewal agreement with Justice Benefits, Inc., which, according to the firm s website, specializes in revenue maximization - assisting clients in navigating the federal and state government reimbursement process. We ve been doing this for at least 10 years, Potter County Sheriff s Office Chief Deputy Scott Giles said with regard to funds the county is eligible to be reimbursed by the federal government for inmate housing. While they sit in our jail, we re eligible to be reimbursed.
