2단계 검찰 개혁인 수사-기소 분리 법안 처리를 두고 더불어민주당의 고민이 깊어지고 있다. 2020년 12월 말 출범한 민주당 검찰개혁특별위원회(검찰개혁특위)는 2021년 6월까지 수사-기소 분리 법안을 국회에서 통과시키겠다고 발표했다. 검찰개혁특위는 법무부 산하에 중대범죄수사청(중수청)을 신설해 검찰이 아직 맡는 ‘6대 범죄’(부패·경제·선거·방위사업·공직자·대형참사)에 대한 수사권을 모두 넘길 계획이었다.
그러나 검찰개혁특위가 마련한 것으로 알려진 관련 법안은 아직 발의도 되지 못했다. 마련한 법안은 중수청 관련 법률 제정안과 2021년 초부터 시행된 �
