And while recent media attention has focused on the fundraising of India Walton and Byron Brown in the Buffalo mayoral race, State Senator Tim Kennedy has had a much better year.
With no election for him this year, the Buffalo Democrat raised $607,000 since January.
By comparison, the State Senate President Andrea-Stewart Cousins collected $222,000 over the same time period.

BUFFALO, N.Y. Ten years ago, Michael Israel died from suicide after a battle with addiction, and a struggle to find resources to help him with that fight.
His death led his parents, Avi and Julie Israel, to create Save the Michaels of the World, an organization dedicated to connecting people dealing with addiction with the help they need.
