The East Ramapo Central School District in Rockland County has been troubled for years. At its heart, it’s educational segregation. On its face, it’s a collision of race and culture.

The state Education Department’s Cultural Education Center re-opens to the public on Monday, May 17,with new COVID-19 protocols in place, State Education Commissioner Betty A. Rosa said Wednesday.
The temporary hours for the home of the State Museum, Library and Archives will be 10 a.m.to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday. It will be closed on Saturdays and Sundays until further notice and on all state-observed holidays. Admission remains free.
