County votes to oppose state civil rights bill Written by Geoffrey Plant on February 12, 2021
Grant County commissioners on Thursday weighed in on a controversial piece of legislation making its way through the Roundhouse in Santa Fe: the N.M. Civil Rights Act.
Over the course of a three-hour meeting, commissioners approved several resolutions authorizing Colonias infrastructure grant applications for a preliminary engineering report for Silver Acres and two road projects, one in Arenas Valley and the other in North Hurley.
They also approved an agreement that ensures the county’s continued participation in the DWI prevention program, as well as a services agreement with the Center for Health Innovation, which operates a career training program intended to motivate primary health care providers to practice in rural Grant County.
