2021 virtual CSU Demo Day celebrates innovation and entrepreneurship 10 May, 2021 Colorado State University students, faculty and staff recently presented their innovative work, competing for more than $20,000 in cash awards. Participants included representatives from all eight colleges and departments from across the university as well as four submissions from the Institute for Cannabis Research at CSU-Pueblo. Each presenter prerecorded a 30-second introduction and a 3-minute talk for the virtual audience and included a digital poster on the custom platform. Presenters with a technology that could be demonstrated had the option to upload a 5-minute demonstration video of their innovation. This year’s event included two lunchtime seminars – “Ask Me Anything” and “Leading Innovation in Sustainability.”  Each seminar was recorded and is available for on-demand viewing. Cannabis education growing at South Jersey colleges

But the Rowan University project had been turning for quite some time.  The genesis of this goes back before the pandemic, Annette Reboli, dean of Rowan s Cooper Medical School, said of the venture. We knew this was coming. There had been plenty of publicity around the topic both in New Jersey and with other states doing legalization, and so we re forging ahead with something we believe will serve the public at large. Rowan, through its institute, has identified three focus groups it sees as vital in relation to the marijuana industry: Center for Cannabinoid Science & Therapeutics  will, in part, study cannabinoid compounds and how they can impact a person s health and well-being.

GLASSBORO Planning to offer certificates in various disciplines to both undergraduate and graduate students, Rowan University s new Institute for Cannabis Research, Policy, & Workforce Development aims to inform public health officials and create jobs under New Jersey s newly legalized recreational marijuana marketplace. The timing of this launch was not at all coincidental, according to Dr. Anthony Lowman, Rowan provost and senior vice president of economic affairs. Lowman said the greater Rowan region offers prime farmland for potential cannabis cultivation. We wanted to be ready when the state announced it, because this is a great opportunity, (and) South Jersey s in a great position, he said.
