IU Health Employees Against COVID-19 Mandate To Protest This Saturday

IU Health Employees Against COVID-19 Mandate To Protest This Saturday Opponents of IU Health’s latest vaccine mandate from across the state are planning to protest at 3 p.m. Saturday on the canal, behind IU Fairbanks Hall. Since the announcement that all employees will have to be fully vaccinated by Sept. 1,  a petition has garnered thousands of signatures. The protest has been planned in hopes of eliminating the requirement. Traci Staley, an IU Health employee, started a Facebook group a week ago that’s garnered the attention of more than 3,000 people. Staley told WIBC’s Rob Kendall Thursday that the expected turnout is already larger than originally anticipated.

Some IU Health Employees Plan to Protest COVID-19 Vaccine Requirement INDIANAPOLIS–Indiana University Health is requiring all of its employees to be fully vaccinated against the coronavirus by September 1, but not all employees agree with that requirement. The IU Health employees who are against the requirement are planning a protest at 3 pm Saturday on the Indy Canal Walk behind IU Health Fairbanks Hall, near the 10th Street bridge. “Vaccinating team members is a safe and effective way to protect patients and help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in facilities and in the community,” IU Health said in a statement. “Requiring vaccinations for healthcare employees is not new or unprecedented.”
