Ruby Rose is open to Batwoman return
Almost a year on from her surprise departure from
Batwoman – in a move which was said to not not entirely “100% her decision” – actress Ruby Rose has revealed to Comic Book Movie that she is open to reprising the role of Kate Kane in The CW’s Arrowverse series should the story call for it.
“I mean, I’m obviously moving on to other roles as I think I’ve done about three films since,” said Rose during a promotional interview for her new film SAS: Red Notice. “I would totally do it. I don’t think it would serve the story because I think building the new Batwoman is more important than going back too far into Kate Kane, but of course I would, I would absolutely do anything they wanted as far as that. I haven’t watched the whole thing, but I’ve watched a couple of episodes, and I think how they’re handling it is beautiful. I think it’s her time to shine.”
Batwoman s Javicia Leslie on that reunion: [SPOILER] is Ryan s Kryptonite Chancellor Agard
Warning: This article contains spoilers from Sunday s episode of
Batwoman, Fair Skin, Blue Eyes.
Batwoman fans should definitely be concerned about Ryan Wilder, who just reconnected with a messy figure from her past in Sunday s episode. Fair Skin, Blue Eyes, the CW superhero drama s latest installment, explored child trafficking and how Gotham City pulls out all the stops whenever a white kid goes missing, but doesn t do the same for minorities. In fact, Ryan (Javicia Leslie) has firsthand experience with this because she was kidnapped by the Candy Lady (Linda Kash) and almost sold into gang life when she was younger. That happened right around the time people were going door-to-door searching for Beth Kane. Alas, no such effort was made for Ryan. Thankfully, Ryan s group home friend Angelique noticed she was missing and saved her.
Batwoman smashes the reset button by dropping a plane out of the sky, nearly on top of its newest protagonist, Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie), whom it turns out might just be the spark this show has been looking for all along. In a superb, tense opening sequence, Ryan fights through traumatic flashbacks to perform CPR on a passerby struck by the plane’s wreckage; simultaneously, Luke (Camrus Johnson) and Mary (Nicole Kang) unravel in the Batcave as they realize it was Kate’s plane that crashed. An awestruck Ryan finds the Batsuit, and she’s already gone when the Crows arrive to investigate the crash, as Alice (Rachel Skarsten) watches from a distance, shaking with fury. Everything changes for Gotham and Kate’s circle in an instant.
Dominion), Leah Gibson (
Devious Maids) and Alex Morf (
Gotham), while Rachel Skarsten (Alice), Camrus Johnson (Luke Fox), Meagan Tandy (Sophie Moore) and Nicole Kang (Mary Hamilton) reprise their roles from season one.
Season two of Batwoman is set to premiere on The CW on January 17th 2021.

Following last month sÂ
first official look at Javicia Leslie as Ryan Wilder in her redesigned Bat-suit, The CW has (finally) released a full teaser for the second season of
Batwoman in the form of a 60-second promo.
The trailer is not exactly hype-inducing, but it does give us a look at Wilder suiting-up as Gotham s new Scarlet Knight and taking out some street thugs. The footage also confirms that at least part of the season will focus on the search for Kate Kane (Ruby Rose), while hinting that Ryan may find herself at odds with Luke Fox, who reminds the headstrong vigilante that Batwoman does not kill.
