WATCH: Clarkson surprises 2 Filipino frontliners with early Christmas present

Published December 23, 2020, 6:34 PM Screenshot from NBA Philippines’ Facebook page Filipino-American NBA guard Jordan Clarkson gave an early Christmas present to two Filipino frontliners by spending time with them in a special episode of NBA Philippines’ Republika Huddle. The Utah Jazz star was able to have quick chat with avid NBA fans CD Lastimosa, a teacher, and Dr. Jelvin Co, a radiologist. Host Nikko Ramos pretended having a technical difficulty as an “unknown guest” entered the video conference. To their surprise, Lastimosa and Co were all smiles as Clarkson expressed his gratitude for the two fronliners in doing their jobs amid the coronavirus pandemic and the past calamities Filipino people had survived the past 12 months.

Globe recreates the holiday season with #ChristmasWeLove Live Pop-Up series to celebrate in the comfort of our homes

Published December 14, 2020, 10:04 AM While the pandemic is still ongoing, there’s no excuse for us to postpone the tradition of celebrating Christmas with our families, friends, and loved ones. It doesn’t matter if we’re apart miles away from them or if they’re with us this season. Some of us might be feeling emotional this year, but the Christmas spirit will always be in our hearts no matter what the nation is experiencing. We’ve already felt the rush of the holiday season as early as September, and being Christmas is one of the most awaited events in the Philippines, we can already hear Christmas songs playing in malls and people already planning parties and shopping for gifts. This year might look a little different, but Globe is reminding everyone that the Christmas we love is still here in the warmth of the family, the traditions we honor, and the connections we’ve made.
