Michael Heykoop, 48, of Muskegon, died after a crash with a car at the intersection of Henry Street and West Summit Avenue around 7:35 p.m. May 3, Norton Shores Police Lt. Marc Vanderstelt said. There is no new information to release, Vanderstelt said, and the crash is still under investigation. Police said previously that preliminary investigation showed Heykoop was bicycling north on Henry Street when he attempted to cross Summit Avenue while he had a red light. An 18-year-old Muskegon Heights woman, driving west on Summit Avenue, hit Heykoop, who pulled out in front of her, police said.
