NJ 101.5, there is a new Responsible Dog Ownership Act, that is being considered that I just don t agree with.
Here are the rules this new act would enforce:
1. Owners of large dogs in New Jersey would be forced to put a fence around their property.
2. Disobeyers would be met with, strong fines to punish those who don t follow these rules.
3. Pet owners who, knowingly, purposely or recklessly allows a dog to roam without a leash or other restraint in a residential neighborhood, park or open space where a child may be present could face a criminal charge of endangerment.

People from all over the country have reached out to us giving us suggestions on what to do, and the horror stories you hear from people who have been victims or know victims of these attacks, it s a hard thing. There is no justice for this. There is no law that provides any type of justice for these families that have lost anybody, said Oma Morgan, who works at Coney Island Auto Parts with Tanveer Ahmed.

CARTERET, NJ The mother of the 3-year-old boy killed in the March 16 Carteret pit bull attack is speaking out, and reacting to the Middlesex County Prosecutor s decision not to file criminal charges in the case.
Additionally, two Central Jersey lawmakers are pushing a bill in Trenton that would make it easier to file criminal charges against a dog owner if their pet injures or kills a child. Nothing is being done and it is very hurtful, said mother Shabana Mohammad, who herself is recovering from being critically injured by the two dogs as she threw her body on top of her son s to protect him. We have not gotten justice. I don t want any other family to suffer what we have had to go through.
