Schools in 4 Maine counties now categorized as yellow due to rise in COVID-19 cases WGME
Four Maine counties have now been deemed “yellow” by the Maine Department of Education.
Schools in Androscoggin, Kennebec, Oxford and Somerset counties are now categorized as yellow. All other counties remain green.
A green categorization means the county has a low risk and the department believes schools can return to in-person classes.
Yellow means there’s an elevated risk for the virus and the department recommends a “hybrid” form of learning to reduce the number of people in schools and classrooms.
Red means the risk is high and that schools in that county should stick to online classes.
