30 in fray for East-West Godavari and Krishna-Guntur teachers’ constituencies
All is set for the biennial elections to the A.P. Legislative Council for East-West Godavari and Krishna-Guntur Teachers’ Constituencies to be conducted on Sunday. Counting of votes will be taken up on March 17.
In all, 30 candidates are in the fray in the two constituencies.
In the East-West Godavari Teachers’ Constituency, 17,467 voters will exercise their franchise, while the number of electors in Krishna-Guntur constituency is 13,505.

VIJAYAWADA: A health worker died while undergoing treatment five days after taking the Covid-19 vaccine in Guntur district on Sunday. The relatives and health workers staged a protest following the death of B. Vijayalakshmi, an ASHA health workers, alleging that reaction to the vaccine had caused the death.

Sucharita flags off vehicle for road safety campaign
Minister for Home and Disaster Management M. Sucharita on Tuesday flagged off a campaign vehicle here as part of the National Road Safety Month.
Speaking on the occasion, the Home Minister called upon road users to follow discipline and safety rules. She urged two-wheelers as well as the pillion riders to wear a helmet. Similarly, a four-wheeler driver and those travelling in it must use a seat belt.
Ms. Sucharita said the drop in number of accidents in Guntur district was a positive development. It was due to the measures taken by the State government, she said and congratulated the Police and the Transport Departments on their efforts.
