Crew chief Cliff Daniels and driver Kyle Larson have a 19-race scorecard of 11 top-5 finishes, including four victories, plus five runner-up finishes, a fourth, and a fifth.
Daniels spent time between 1999 and 2005 racing on a semi-regular basis at Southside in Richmond, Langley in Hampton (Va.), and at Charlotte. He harbored a passion for driving, but reality and not enough funding ended that career path.

Road America will host both the NASCAR Xfinity and Cup Series races this holiday weekend. Austin Cindric won last year s Xfinity stop at the circuit from the front row. This week s lineup will be set by on-track qualifying Saturday morning before the race. Ty Gibbs, Kyle Busch, and AJ Allmendinger all have won on road courses already this season. All three of those drivers will be looking to add to their series win totals this week as well. For its part, Road America has spread the wins around. In 11 series races at the track not one repeat winner has surfaced. All but one of those races were won by drivers starting inside the first six rows, too. For those reasons, fantasy players will want to pay close attention to Friday s lone practice session, while remaining flexible with their lineups to accommodate adjustments following Saturday s qualifying.

So it took the actor a moment to figure out how he might fit in a series set in a NASCAR garage.
âI donât know how it would work as a comedy,â James said.
James said the light went off â or is it, the green flag of an idea dropped â when the show was framed as less about the inner workings of the industry and more about the relationships of a tight-knit racing team.
