Malakoff Middle School seventh grader Brant Cookston recently competed in Texas Junior High Rodeo Association Region IV events including: Bareback Steer Riding, Junior Bull Riding, Boys Goat Tying, Ribbon Roping,
Pine River-Backus and Pequot Lakes student-athletes were able to show their skills to a local crowd during the Region 1 High School Rodeo at Rafter 4M Arena west of Backus on Friday, May 14.
