Splash Pads to Open for Season

The splash pads are automated water playgrounds for kids of all ages and free and open to the public. Mrs. Cope was born Feb. 8, 1931 at Jellico, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ruby Effie Baker Fuson; brother, Joe Fuson and sister; Laura Fuson Martin. Mrs. Cope was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-eight years, Rev. Dr. William Wayne Cope. Mrs. Cope is survived by their daughter, Karen Cope Dawsey, Whiteville, North Carolina; their granddaughter, Allison Dawsey Yezek, Charlotte, North Carolina; and great-grandchildren, Ava Carolyn Yezek and Mason James Yezek, Charlotte, North Carolina. She is also survived by sisters, Novella Fuson Phillips, Knoxville, Tennessee and Flo Fuson Martin, Bristol, Virginia and the extended Fuson and Cope families.

Hide & Seek for Ice Cream

(Knox County, TN) – In an effort to combine social distancing, physical activity and fun, Knox County Parks and Recreation is using a Hide and Seek program that will include four county park locations. Participants are invited to download maps that show the hiding spots in each park and then travel to the parks to find the exact locations. The locations are marked by KCPR with a yellow highlighted number on the maps. A tag has been placed at each hiding spot with a number on it. Maps include space to record tag numbers, or participants can record tag numbers on a plain sheet of paper.

The Knox County Parks and Recreation Department s new Hide and Seek program aims to promote safe and healthy activities during the pandemic. Officials said the game will take place at four different locations within the Concord Park system from March 1 until noon on April 30.  The four parks are Admiral Farragut, Carl Cowan, The Cove, and The Point.
