Allmyxsliventexas, who has captured eight of his 10 starts this year, and Frewil Dakota Sven, who upset him in last week’s Open Pace, head the cast for Saturday night’s (April 24) featured $10,000 Lloyd Arnold Pace at Cal-Expo.
Watch and Wager LLC will present nine races with first post set for 5:45 p.m. PT.
Allmyxsliventexas has been burdened with the assigned No. 10 post position in three of his last four starts, including last week’s foray, but does his work from the No. 5 slot on Saturday for owners and breeders Wayne and Rod Knittel, trainer Bob Johnson, and pilot Nick Roland.
The five-year-old pacer Sherwood has only made 15 starts, but he’s already had six trips to the winner’s circle and many more appear to be in his future.
Carrying the banner of Mark Anderson, taking his lessons from Gordie Graham and under the direction of Mooney Svendsen, he actually made 10 cents on the dollar look like an overlay last Sunday (April 4) at Cal Expo as he romped home by nearly four lengths over a conditioned crew.
“It was as easy as it looked,” Svendsen related regarding Sherwood after the score. “You know, he actually went a monster race the week before, considering he’d been away for almost three months.
Robert Corbin is enjoying his second winter at Cal Expo while sending his share of performers to the winner’s circle.
“The weather is great and we had such a good time last year we decided to come back,” explained the 61-year-old Chicago native. While Robert got his first taste of the sport in his teens through his parents, it wasn’t until six years ago that he really got involved in the game.
“My mother passed away and we wanted to have something for my father to look forward to, so we ended up buying a broodmare and eventually purchased some racehorses as well.”
Allmyxsliventexas, a winner of six of his seven starts at this meet, including a start-to-finish tally last week, looks to add another photo to the scrapbook in Saturday night’s featured $6,700 Open Pace.
The main event will go as the fourth on a 13-race card presented by Watch and Wager LLC with first post set for 4:50 p.m.
Allmyxsliventexas is an eight-year-old Hi Ho Silverheels homebred who competes for Wayne and Rod Knittel, hails from the Bob Johnson shedrow and will be handled once again by Nick Roland while doing his work from the outside slot in the field of six.
Allmyxsliventexas, perfect in three starts at the current Cal-Expo meet since returning west from Chicago, looks to keep the streak going in Sunday night’s (Jan. 3) featured $7,200 Open Pace.
Watch and Wager LLC will present 12 races with first post set for 4:55 p.m. PST, and the main event will go as the eighth event on the evening.
A now eight-year-old homebred son of Hi Ho Silverheels, Allmyxsliventexas carries the banner of Wayne and Rod Knittel and is conditioned by Bob Johnson.
He has been assigned the outside post in the field of 10, which also includes his highly-regarded stablemate Proof, who will leave just to his inside in the No. 9 slot.
