The Israeli Government s security cabinet has approved an end to the campaign, which has seen rockets fired between Gaza and Israel, and the destruction of civilian buildings in Palestine including a press centre home to the Associated Press and Al-Jazeera. UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has welcomed Israel’s announcement of a ceasefire, and has called for leaders in the region to “find a durable solution” that “prevents terrorism, ends the cycle of violence and delivers a sustainable and just peace”.
