EPA launches strategic environmental assessment of petroleum infrastructure master Plan

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has launched the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) of the Petroleum Infrastructure Master Plan (PIMP) to ensure environmental sustainability of policies, plans and programmes.
Dr Henry K. Kokofu, the Executive Director, EPA, said SEAs had contributed immensely to environmental mainstreaming and the pursuit of sustainability in Ghana s Development Planning at the national, sectoral and local levels.
He said, “this flows from the days of the Ghana Poverty Reduction Strategies (GPRS) to the current Medium-Term National Development Policy Framework (2018-2021).”
Speaking at the kick-off and launch of the SEA project in Accra, Dr Kokofu, said the legal mandate for the project was drawn from Section 2(5) of the National Development Planning System Regulation 2016, Legislative Instrument L.I 2232 and Sect ....
