Central Maine Company Donates $1 Million to Children’s Center Expansion
In a story that just keeps getting better and better, another massive donation has come in to the Children s Center to help them boost their expansion project goals. The Children s Center is currently fundraising for their 14,000 square foot expansion in an effort to do away with the center s lengthy services wait list.
The most recent, and largest donation, has come from Charlie and Nancy Shuman. The Shuman family own the Charlie s Family of Dealerships in Augusta which, according to the Bangor Daily, is the largest new car dealership in the state of Maine.

The 5k also acts to remember every life lost to addiction.
The event virtual event can be done from anywhere on May 8 at 9 a.m., which is when the event will also kick off on Facebook and Instagram.
It will start with the past scholarship recipient sharing his story, then those who signed up will begin their walk from wherever they are.

Dozens of people, led by local students, joined together Sunday for a socially distanced 5K walk to shine a light on mental health challenges teens have been facing, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Especially right now with COVID, said Audrey Glaser, a junior at Mason High School and an intern with Grant Us Hope. Teens are struggling and it s been a really difficult time for our mental health.
The 5K walk took supporters around the lake at the Voice of America Metropark in West Chester on Sunday afternoon, led by students and the organization Grant Us Hope, a nonprofit focusing on teen suicide prevention on the Greater Cincinnati region.
