The following defendants waived their right to a preliminary hearing in central court on Wednesday. Amanda J. Messersmith, 31, of Greeneville, Tennessee, on April 12 was charged with delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. The state Office of the Attorney General said Messersmith allegedly sold methamphetamine to a confidential informant multiple times. The first controlled buy occurred at the Breezewood Motel on Feb. 24, documents said. Messersmith allegedly sold meth to the informant for $100. Another buy occurred at the hotel on March 4, that time for an $80 purchase. On March 18, the informant purchased $80 worth of meth from Messersmith at the Wiltshire, 140 S. Breezewood Road. Bail was set at $50,000 straight. ....
