MARYVILLE The Troy/Maryville/St. Jacob/Marine Chamber of Commerce on March 4 delivered 1,100 “Healthcare Kindness Day” bags to Anderson Hospital.
“Our healthcare workers were working hard every single day but, in March of 2020, they were asked to not only work harder but put themselves at risk of COVID,” said Chamber Executive Director Dawn Mushill. “Every one of them has had a very trying 10 months and they are still dealing with so much. So we created a holiday for them.”
Mushill said the idea came from a Chamber board meeting. The bags have been in progress for a couple of months. Each bag contained gift certificates, treats, a kindness jar (with over a dozen kindness sayings that they can take “as needed”), a handwritten thank you note, a scratch off ticket for a free item at a local restaurant and a flyer telling the story of Healthcare Kindness Day.
What I learned from doing a game jam every month for a year. by Theo Clarke on 01/28/21 10:15:00 am The following blog post, unless otherwise noted, was written by a member of Gamasutras community. The thoughts and opinions expressed are those of the writer and not Gamasutra or its parent company.
In late 2017, I graduated with an MA in Games Design and started working in QA at a small mobile developer based in Northern England. 2019 was only my 2nd full year working in the games industry, and as a relatively-recent graduate and entrant to the industry, I felt I had settled in pretty well as 2020 approached. but I was still gripped by a desire to challenge myself to learn and absorb as much as I could about game development.
