Quality, cost-effective public services designed to foster a high quality of life in Delaware were the focus of a City Council work session Feb. 1.
Members of the city administration presented an update to a set of municipal goals that City Manager Tom Homan said had been formulated in 2019 and 2020. We re checking back just to give you an idea what we ve been working on, refresh your collective memories to what those goals are that we established (and) get clarification, provide additional information and feedback, Homan said before reviewing a summary of the goals.
The summary lists the objective of a vital, safe and diverse community that promotes a high quality of life, great neighborhoods, balanced economic growth and quality public services.

The Tri-Township Fire Station, which has sat at 495 Sunbury Road since 1957, is going to move.
It won t travel far, though.
The Delaware County commissioners on Dec. 21 approved a quitclaim deed transfer of 2.2 acres to the Tri-Township Board of Fire District Trustees. The Brown Township site will be the county s Byxbe Campus, at the former Delaware Area Career Center at 1610 state Route 521.
The new station s site is just off Bowtown Road, less than a mile to the east of the current station.
Tri-Township Fire Station Chief Troy Morris said the move is motivated largely by the city of Delaware s plan to widen the Point intersection of East William Street and East Central Avenue to four lanes under a railroad bridge. The fire station sits adjacent to the Point.
Delaware council takes another look at Homeport housing plans for Channing Street I think this is a different kind of concept here, he said.
Homeport has a wealth of experience, and an important element of its plan is long-term management at the site, Efland said.
OHFA tax credits typically last 15 years, with the potential of renewal for another 15 years, he said.
The county engineer s office eventually will move to Delaware County s planned Byxbe Campus, a centralized location for a number of county departments, at 1610 state Route 521, a 63.6-acre site that previously housed the Delaware Area Career Center North Campus.
Delaware County facilities director Jon Melvin on Jan. 14 told the county commissioners completion of the campus is expected in 2022.
