IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. (WHEC) The Irondequoit Bay Outlet Bridge swung over Thursday morning so boats can now go between the bay and the lake.
For boaters, this is great news, but for drivers, this means the commute, to and from Webster will take a little longer. That s why some people in the area are pushing to keep the bridge open year-round.
During the time the bridge is shut down, businesses on both sides say they feel the strain, and emergency access more difficult.
Those are just a few of the many considerations in this project.
