PHOENIX Governor Doug Ducey today welcomed a new manufacturing company to Arizona by traveling to Prescott for the grand opening of its new headquarters after relocating from California.
CP Technologies is expected to create more than 200 jobs over the next two years and have additional economic impacts on Yavapai County.
“Arizona’s manufacturers produce vital resources for a variety of industries and create thousands of jobs in the state,” said Governor Ducey. “CP Technologies could have chosen anywhere in the country, and they chose Arizona. They are just one of the many manufacturers choosing our state for our skilled workforce and pro-business environment. My thanks to Mike McCormack, and everyone else who worked on this project to help bring CP Technologies to Arizona.”
The U.S. Forest Service is investigating a significant die-off of juniper trees across much of central and northern Arizona.
On the Prescott and Kaibab National Forests approximately 50,000 to 100,000 acres of junipers have been affected in the area between Paulden and Ash Fork along Highway 89 and I-40.
Mortality has also been noted north of Williams along Highway 64. Most affected trees are shaggy bark juniper species, including Utah juniper and one-seed juniper.
Mortality is varied, with most areas showing die-off of 5-30% of trees, with some larger pockets of dead junipers ranging from 1 to 15 acres.
In addition, forest officials have been noting mortality of individual and small patches of alligator juniper in the higher elevation upland areas surrounding the City of Prescott.

In the NOPR, the Commission furnished proposed revisions to transmission planning and cost allocation processes following significant developments in the sector, reflecting a potential new focus on reliability and economic benefits rather than the current risks and rewards approach associated with specific projects. Further, the NOPR acknowledged policy shifts in the fifteen years following Order No. 679, which codified an approach to evaluate requests for incentives made by transmission owners and operators, as well as Order No. 1000 and the 2012 Policy Statement on transmission incentives applications. Namely, the NOPR proposed to: offer public utilities an return on equity (ROE) incenti

He didn’t seek re-election in 2015 and was succeeded as mayor by Harry Oberg. Prescott Mayor Greg Mengarelli says “Marlin Kuykendall was an important and influential leader in Prescott for many decades.” He adds: “his service to our Nation, our State and our City will long be remembered.
