Ochsner Lafayette General to add drive-thru testing to COVID vaccine site at Domingue Center

LAFAYETTE, La. â
Starting Wednesday, August 4, Ochsner Lafayette General will begin community COVID-19 testing at the Domingue Recreation Center, located at 901 Mudd Avenue. Vaccinations and testing will be available Monday â Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. Parental/legal guardian consent is required for minors under the age of 18 for both testing and vaccines. Vaccinations will take place indoors, while testing will be in a drive-thru setting to ensure the safety of patients and employees. In accordance with Governor Edwardsâ statewide mask mandate, masks are required inside the facility.

There Is No Drive Thru For Covid Vaccinations
Just a point of clarification for anyone who might have misunderstood, there is no drive Covid vaccination locations that are available.
Officials with Oschner Lafayette General want the public to know they are still providing Covid testing in a drive thru setting, but vaccinations are not yet available to the general public.
You can get a test for Covid, and you can get a free flu shot, but Covid vaccinations are only available to frontline healthcare workers right now.
Oschner Lafayette General is offering the Covid testing and free flu shots at the Domingue Recreation Center between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. today, tomorrow and Friday.
