MUNCIE, Ind. Another 2,500 boxes of food will be distributed to families in need during a massive giveaway on Sunday, May 9, at Union Missionary Baptist Church.
The event will run noon-5 p.m., or until food runs out. Like previous events, it will be organized in a drive-thru fashion in the church s parking lot at 1100 N. Macedonia Ave.
Pastor Robert Scaife told The Star Press that each box can feed a family for three to five days, and contains fruits, vegetables, dairy and a meat product. The community’s response has been amazing. They showed up in large numbers, and we have had great interaction with them, Scaife said. They have expressed their thankfulness and always encouraging us in what we are doing. It has been a blessing to serve our community.
